Top Games this Week

As the season is winding down, the season is winding down, we have a lot of pivotal conference and even section match ups.

AA No. 1 Minnehaha Academy at No. 4 Minneapolis North - Tuesday
After dropping a home game to the second best AAA team, the Polars want to avoid losing two home games in a row. Minnehaha has only lost twice this season, both to Hopkins. I don't believe there is a AA team that can beat Minnehaha. They will win by 10.

AA No. 7 Jordan at Mayer Lutheran - Tuesday
Both teams were in the state tournament last year. Jordan has continued to look like a state team. On the other hand, the Crusaders haven't had as good of a season but has only lost one conference game, and that was at Jordan by four. This is a chance for Mayer Lutheran to get a share of the Minnesota Valley Conference title. I say the conference will be shared and Mayer Lutheran wins by 2.

AAAA No. 11 Eden Prairie at 10 Edina - Tuesday
Edina is coming off a huge win against Wayzata when they blew them out. Edina. EP had a week where they lost to Wayzata and East Ridge. Both have three conference losses and it is still possible for the both the share the conference title with Hopkins. But with a loss, either team will be out of the title race. Edina will take their home court advantage that they used against Hopkins and will win by 4.

AAAA No. 4 Prior Lake vs at. 5 Lakeville North - Friday
Lakeville North won the first game between these two in Prior Lake. The Panthers fended off a late comeback by the Lakers. Prior Lake hasn't lost since. This game will most likely decide who wins the South Suburban Conference with only a few conference games left. I think this game will be similar to last but just closer. Lakeville North by 3.

AAAA No. 3 Hopkins at No. 15 Wayzata - Friday
Last time these two played. Hopkins had a big second half and won with the help of their student section, the Lindbergh Loonies. They most likely will travel but one could only expect that Wayzata's will be stronger. Wayzata has been in a slump recently but what better way to pull themselves out of it by getting a big conference and section win vs Hopkins. It will tie them up in the conference standing and will make the last Lake Conference game day huge. Unfortunately for the Trojans, I don't think that will happen. They lose by 5.

AAA No. 1 DeLaSalle at AA No. 1 Minnehaha - Saturday
The Islanders have been playing great recently. Two big wins against two AAAA teams Hopkins and CDH. They won't have the same advantage as the whole small gym on the Island cheering them on but they will have momentum. The Islanders looked better than Hopkins when they played them. Minnehaha can't say the same as they lost twice to them. It will be a very close game but DeLaSalle will carry their momentum into this week and this weekend and win by 2.

AAAA No. 2 East Ridge at No. 8 Cretin-Derham Hall - Saturday
Like DeLaSalle, the Raiders had good momentum until they lost on the Island in the Christian Brothers Cup. The Raptors after two early losses, haven't lost since and hasn't lost a single conference game. The conference title should still be still be in the hands of East Ridge even if they lose but it could be a good preview of a possible section match up. East Ridge will win by 6.

AA No. 8 Spectrum vs No. 5 Marantha - Saturday
Two of AA best teams are facing off at a neutral site. Spectrum can tie in the conference standings with a win. And if not, Marantha will likely win the conference without a loss. I predict that Marantha will use their experience from playing against higher class teams and win by 11.
